Frequently Asked Questions
Q: The "P" is flashing on my unit, what is wrong?
A: The unit is not seeing code or an incorrect code. Measure data lines. Is there a transponder present? If there is no transponder present, you need to provide pull up resistors to all the data lines. Bring all data lines up to 5 volts through a 27k to 100k resistor.
Â
Q: Do I have to wire up pin 12, D4?
A: Only wire this pin if your aircraft goes over 33,000 ft.
Â
Q: My unit locks up on startup and I can't change modes. If I cycle master switch, unit will again work fine. What is wrong?
A: Some older 655 units have a micro-processor that will lock up if unit drops to 11 volts. You can either send unit in for modification, or put the 655 on avionics master and turn on after engine start.
