Introducing the new echoESX EXP for Experimental aircraft, a remotely mounted transponder system that meets the Transponder and Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) requirements for operating in controlled airspace. The echoESX EXP combines a Mode S transponder and 1090 MHz Extended Squitter ADS-B transmitter with an SBAS Global Positioning System (GPS) position source for compliant ADS-B Out transmissions.

Designed for quick and hassle-free installation, significantly reducing labor time and costs compared to traditional ADS-B Mode S transponders, echoESX is an easy replacement for your existing Mode C transponder with the ability to use your existing installed monopole transponder antenna.Â
 ÂCompact, lightweight, and power-efficient, the echoESX minimizes Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP), making it an ideal replacement for traditional transponders. The integrated GPS receiver removes the need and cost for a separate GPS installation. An optional TSO certified GPS antenna from uAvionix provides the complete kit required.Â
 ÂuAvionix pioneered the use of micro SWaP electronics to enable ADS-B compliance through its tailBeacon, skyBeacon, and tailBeaconX products. echoESX continues that tradition and provides incredible flexibility on fitment and mounting location, greatly expanding the number of compatible aircraft inlcuding fixed wing, gliders, and gyros.

Mechanically installing echoESX is the first easy step. Configuration is a breeze – integration with the AV-30 (and AV-20-E for Experimental Aircraft) quickly enables the setting of the necessary values including the ICAO address, emitter type, aircraft length, width and GPS offsets.
