Description
This FAA TSO battery is designed to start TURBINE/TURBO PROP engines with max motor/generator output of 300 amps or less.
This battery is a beast in a light package! The ETX1200-24-TSO is a 19.4Ah battery and weighs only 12.4lbs while having insane cranking power!
Contact us prior to buying if your motor/generator is more than 300 amps to verify the proper batteries needed for your TURBINE application.
This battery is fully protected by an integrated battery management system (BMS). The BMS protects the cell’s from over discharge, over charge, short circuit, temperature, plus cell balancing to ensure charge levels are equal. Additionally, the ETX-Hundred Series aircraft batteries have redundant electronic circuits and battery fault indication. The fault indicator can be connected into your EFIS or wired to a 24volt LED light on your control panel to alert you to the state of charge and state of health of the battery.
In addition to the BMS, this battery has thermal runaway containment and venting ability. This is designed to meet all of the DO-311a and DO-160 requirements for a lithium battery in aircraft.
EarthX is USA based engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to continuous improvements to bring you the best possible battery.

Common Uses for 24V Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries
EarthX 24V lithium batteries offer long-lasting power for a range of applications. Choose EarthX Batteries for:
- Certified aircraft: Lead acid batteries have been the power source of choice for certified aircraft, but EarthX has an FAA TSO approved battery to meet flight requirements and improve performance.
- Experimental aircraft: From kit planes, home builds, to factory built aircraft, EarthX is the most trusted lithium aircraft battery used. Our ETX Hundred Series provides the powerful cranking power combined with required capacity at a fraction of the weight.
- OEM products: Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) develop machinery with lithium batteries to deliver the power and longevity they require.
Benefits of 24V Lithium Batteries
When you use 24V lithium batteries for your aircraft, vehicle or equipment, you can reap several benefits from their design. Advantages include:
- Charge and discharge cycles: Compared to lead acid batteries, EarthX 24V LiFePo4 batteries have over 2,000 charging and discharging cycles available, which is 10X more than a traditional lead acid battery. This fact allows you to drain and recharge the battery a high number of times before the end of its life span.
- Lightweight: When compared to lead acid batteries, 24V lithium batteries are much lighter, improving the overall performance of the vehicle or aircraft.
- Safe: EarthX Batteries have a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) that prevents overcharging and over discharging. When you use our 24V batteries, you keep the battery safe along with the user.
Charging 24V Lithium Batteries
To charge your 24V LiFePo4 batteries, keep the following tips in mind:
- Use an EarthX-recommended charger for best results.
- Charge away from any extreme temperatures to get the most from your charging.
- Maintain your battery at minimum voltage (26.5V) or higher to extend life span.
- Charge with a “plug in the wall” charger if discharged before engine start attempt.
